ISLAMABAD: The hearing of the case regarding the claims made by famous anchorperson Dr Shahid Masood about Zainab’s murderer was headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar on Monday.
Shahid Masood’s response has been rejected by Justice Nisar. CJ declared that Masood will get punishment according to the law as the time to apologize and draw back claims has passed.
Earlier Shahid Masood had claimed in his talk show that Imran Ali, the man convicted of raping and murdering 7-year-old Zainab in Kasur, was a member of a pornography gang which also included a Punjab minster. He had also claimed that the man had 37 foreign accounts.
When Masood asked for an apology and withdrawal of the case, CJ stated that this matter will not end with an apology as Masood had made the statements on national TV and asked the court to take notice and had also advised death sentence for himself if proven wrong. He has to face penalty now, CJ added.
