KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday addressed a gathering of business community in Karachi and stressed upon the link between Karachi’s development and overall progress of the country.
Khan is on a two-day visit of Karachi to campaign for upcoming elections.
During his address, the party chief presented his party plans for the development of the city. Citing the lack of basic facilities in Karachi, PTI leader stated that Pakistan can not progress if its big city, Karachi, is not well developed.
Khan shared his plan with the business community of empowering the local government system in Karachi.
He aims to build desalination plants and power projects to cope with the city’s growing need for water and electricity.
Khan said, “Pakistan has not been able to excel in the subcontinent region, which is considered to be a poor region, let alone the world”.
Citing the economic condition, PTI chief stated that the nation is in severe debt and the value of rupee is down.
He further stated, “People want change and people of Sindh are ready for a change.
Imran Khan is scheduled to visit different areas in the metropolis, as part of his election campaign.
